Kiara Advani to headline Dinesh Vijan’s Shakti Shalini; horror comedy to release on THIS date

Maddock Films is all set with its amazing eight horror comedy line-ups. Now as per the latest news, Kiara Advani has joined Dinesh Vijan’s Shakti Shalini. She will play the titular character in this supernatural comedy, set to go on floors around April-May 2025.

Kiara Advani will play a lead in Dinesh Vijan’s Shakti Shalini

The Kabir Singh actress will be the next scene in the horror comedy film Shakti Shalini. As per the reports of Peeping Moon, Shakti Shalini will be different from Dinesh Vijan’s other horror comedy films. It will be directed by Ajitpal Singh. Like past films in the series, the movie is inspired by Indian legend, but it will take a different narrative tack, differentiating it from its Horror-Comedy Universe predecessors. Shakti Shalini will hit cinemas on December 31. 

Apart from Shakti Shalini, Maddock has Thama, starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Paresh Rawal in pivotal roles. The film is set to release during Diwali weekend.

Earlier, the Maddock Horror-comedy Universe includes leads from the industry such as Shraddha Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, Sharvari, Rashmika Mandanna, and Alia Bhatt. Shakti Shalini marks the fifth standalone movie in the universe, following Stree, Bhediya, Munjya, and Thama.

The saga will continue with Bhediya 2, Chamunda, Stree 3 and Maha Munjya all leading up to a climactic two-part event, Pehla Mahayudh and Doosara Mahayudh in 2028.

On the work front, Kiara will be next in Ram Charan’s Game Changer, followed by Hrithik Roshan’s War 2. She is also doing KGF star Yash’s next action drama, Toxic, and Ranveer Singh’s Don 3, both slated for release in 2026. Kiara is also discussing a biopic project of a yesteryear Bollywood actress, but she is yet to sign on that project.
